Early Intervention services are geared to friends and family of people between the ages of 14-35 who are potentially experiencing what the medical community calls “first episode of psychosis.” Some people name these experiences things like “spiritual emergencies” or “existential crises.” Regardless of what they get labeled as, it can be scary when someone you love is experiencing distressing, intense, mysterious and confusing emotional states for the first time.
At FOR we offer counselling support services and assist with navigating and understanding the mental health system. In addition, we offer an 8 week education and support group that helps families to understand what might be happening with the person they love and how they can help.
