<p><strong>Families for Mental Health Recovery Committee</strong><br />
An ongoing group for families to advocate for changes to the mental health system. The group meets monthly on the second Monday of the month at 6:00pm at our 901 King Street West location. Please call 416-535-8501 ext. 2011 for next meeting time.<br />

Fundraising and Events Committee</strong><br />
An ongoing group of families, board members and staff that work together to raise donations for the family and youth programs. The group meets monthly on the third Monday evening at 6:00pm at our 901 King Street West location.<br />

Ongoing Family Support Group</strong><br />
This support group meets monthly to discuss ongoing recovery for their family members. This is for families who have already taken the Family Mental Health Recovery Course. The group meets monthly on the fourth Monday of the month at our 901 King Street West location.</p>

<p>Golf for Good is a fundraising initiative of the Family Outreach and Response Program. We support and educate family and friends during the mental health recovery process. Last year over 200 families used our services. Now in its 5th year, this charity golf event continues to build in popularity and is a key platform to the charity, providing essential services not covered by base funding. <span id="more-234"></span></p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p> A dear friend of the Family Outreach and Response Dennis Amato passed away in his home on Friday, June 19, 2009 at the age of 65. He was the beloved husband of Linda Amato (a staff person at FOR) of 44 years. He was a great support to The Family Outreach and Response program and his volunteer work with us was deeply appreciated. Friends may call at the Turner &amp; Porter Yorke Chapel, 2357 Bloor St. W., at Windermere, east of the Jane subway from 1-3 p.m. Saturday, June 27, 2009 with the Funeral Service to follow in the Chapel at 3 o&#8217;clock.<a href="http://www.legacy.com/obituaries/thestar/obituary.aspx?n=dennis-j-amato&amp;pid=128749412"> Click here to read the notice in the Toronto Star and sign the virtual guest book. </a></p>

The conference “<strong>International Recovery Perspectives: Action on Alternatives</strong>” offers conference participants an opportunity to hear from distinguished researchers, advocates, authors, activists and clinical practitioners who are renowned for their work in alternatives for recovery.<span id="more-54"></span>  The conference is a collaborative initiative between the Leadership Project (Toronto) and the International Network Toward Alternatives and Recovery (INTAR).  This a rare opportunity for Ontarians and our neighbours to meet with, and hear from the members of INTAR and the other international guests who are working to create alternatives to psychiatric treatment, and who are pressing for meaningful change at the local, national and now, international levels.</p>
<p><strong>June 4th- Psychosium III</strong>- A one-day event bringing together psychiatric survivors from around the world interested in alternatives, recovery,  and advocacy. The Psychosium is free and provides the local community with an opportunity to make an informal, and more political connection with some of the international guests presenting at the conference.</p>
<p><strong>June 5th and 6th- International Recovery Perspectives</strong>-Action on Alternatives Conference</p>
<p><strong>June 7th-</strong> INTAR Meeting- Presenters at the conference interested in becoming members of INTAR are welcome to join.</p>
